HR Policies! Who needs them?

There are businesses that get by with minimal documentation of their HR policies. Unfortunately that happy state of affairs cannot last if the business is intending to grow. Why? Because in the absence of written policies owners and managers will waste a lot of valuable time repeatedly answering the same questions, such as; “how do I apply for annual leave?”, or “when do pay reviews take place?”, or trying to remember why they seem to have applied different rules at different times to situations that are clearly identical, thereby causing confusion and dissatisfaction.
Documented HR policies are useful because they save time which can be better spent developing new products and services,  or finding new customers.
